Consult-Liaison Psychiatry Fellowship Program Director

The Department of Psychiatry at Yale School of Medicine is seeking a board-certified, experienced Consult-Liaison (C-L) Psychiatrist to join our nationally recognized Psychological Medicine Section at Yale New Haven Hospital and lead our renowned C-L Psychiatry Fellowship Program as Program Director. We seek an innovative and outstanding clinician and educator with leadership experience who is motivated to train the next generation of C-L psychiatrists.
The Program Director will oversee all aspects of the fellowship, including recruitment, selection, evaluation and graduation of fellows, the clinical and didactic curriculum, as well as the supervision, advising and mentoring of fellows. They will also ensure compliance with accreditation standards and institutional requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a graduate medical education setting and a minimum of five years of experience practicing C-L Psychiatry.
This
position carries a faculty appointment within the Department of Psychiatry at
the assistant or associate professor level, depending upon the candidate’s
qualifications and experience, on our clinician educator scholar track. Responsibilities
will be split between the Program Director role and clinical work in our Psychiatry
Consult Service, managing the evaluation of patients on medical and surgical
units at Yale New Haven Hospital and working collaboratively with a team of
advanced practice providers, social workers, trainees, and clinical nurse
specialists. This position includes up to a full day per week of protected
administrative/academic time, in addition to the dedicated non-clinical time
for the Program Director role.
The
Psychological Medicine Section consists of traditional and proactive
psychiatric consult services on medical and surgical inpatient units and 16
integrated psychiatry and behavioral health programs in diverse medical and
surgical outpatient settings. Yale New Haven Hospital is the primary teaching
and clinical research facility of Yale School of Medicine and consistently
ranks among the best hospitals in the United States. Yale New Haven Hospital
encompasses the Yale New Haven Psychiatric Hospital, a 118-bed acute care
psychiatric facility that consists of emergency services, inpatient programs,
specialized step-down intensive outpatient/day hospital programs for
adolescents and adults, and Interventional Psychiatric Services.
