Position Summary:
Contributes to the university’s mission through teaching, research and service, some variation by academic unit.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
· Provides patient care in consultation-liaison, outpatient, and/or inpatient psychiatric care services
· Supervises residents, medical students, and fellows
· Participates in the teaching program for fellows, residents, and medical students
· Engages in advancement of scientific knowledge through research and/or scholarship
· Serves the academic community through participation in institutional governance, such as committee work and other administrative duties
· Contributes to the community through academically-related public service complementary to the institutional mission
· Ensures compliance with HIPAA and billing regulations; adheres to institutional and departmental policies and procedures
· Demonstrates professionalism in accordance with the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine's Statement of Faculty Responsibility
Required Qualifications:
· M.D. or D.O degree
· Successful completion of ACGME- accredited residency program in psychiatry
· Successful completion of ACGME-accredited fellowship program in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
· Texas medical licensure, or eligibility for medical licensure in Texas
Desired Qualifications:
· Board certification in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology
· Board Certification in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology
· Bilingual (Spanish/English)
· Evidence of success in peer-reviewed publications
· Emerging regional or national reputation for the rank of associate professor or higher
