Position Summary:
Contributes to the university’s mission through teaching, research and service, some variation by academic unit.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
· Provides clinical and administrative leadership to include monitoring and adjusting schedules/rotations as needed in both outpatient/and or inpatient psychiatric care services, administer training activities for outpatient and/or inpatient services and embracing continuous quality improvement
· Provides patient care for outpatient and/or inpatient psychiatric care services
· Participates in teaching and training psychology interns, psychology post-doctoral trainees, residents, fellows and medical students including presentation of lectures
· Participates in academic research and scholarly activities in the Department of Psychiatry
· Participates in committees and other administrative duties as assigned
· Ensures compliance with HIPAA
· Adheres to institutional and departmental policies and procedures
· Demonstrates professionalism in accordance with the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine’s Declaration of Faculty Professional Responsibility
Required Qualifications:
· M.D./D.O.
· Successful completion of ACGME-accredited residency program in psychiatry
· Board-certified in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology
· Licensure or eligibility for medical licensure in Texas
Desired Qualifications:
· Bilingual (Spanish/English)
· Demonstrated track record in research and peer-reviewed publications (for rank of Associate Professor or higher)
· Regionally or nationally recognized clinical expertise (for rank of Associate Professor or higher)
