Lucille Fusaro Meinsler Program Administrator Award

AWARDEES

AADPRT recognizes the outstanding skills that psychiatry residency and/or fellowship Program Administrators possess and utilize in the day-to-day management of a residency training program. The winner of this award will have travel expenses covered to attend the AADPRT Annual Meeting (registration, three hotel nights, airfare) and be recognized for their important role in working in this field.

Eligibility requirements
Winning institutions are not eligible to submit nominees for a two-year period (e.g. submitted in 2023 (won in 2024) is eligible to submit again in 2026). Requirements include:

  1. Five years experience as a psychiatry Program Administrator
  2. Attended at least one AADPRT or other national/regional meeting related to psychiatry residency training in the past two years
  3. Institution and TD/ATD individual dues paid for current member year.
  4. Each institution may submit one nomination per program (i.e., general, child & adolescent, subspecialty).

Objective
To honor an outstanding Program Administrator who possesses exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills and who demonstrates innovative approaches in managing a psychiatry residency training program.

Nomination Must Include:

  1. Complete online application (view sample)
  2. Letter of recommendation from Training Director
  3. Letter(s) of recommendation from residents/fellows
  4. Letter of recommendation from someone involved in graduate medical education (GME) who can comment on the nominee’s excellence as a Program Administrator.
  5. Candidate Personal Statement
  6. Candidate Resume

Selection Process
The LFM Award Committee will select one awardee each year. Applications will be evaluated in the following areas:

  1. Communication and interpersonal skills
  2. Commitment to the education residents/fellows through excellence and creativity in administrative management of the training program
  3. Originality in improving an aspect of the residency/fellowship program
  4. Professional development including participation in national/regional Program Administrator meetings
  5. Plans for future contributions

A confirmation email will be sent TO THE SUBMITTER ONLY (training director) when the complete electronic submission is received. If the training director does not receive a confirmation within two business days, send an email to exec@aadprt.org.

All requests for confirmation must be received before the deadline. Materials will not be accepted or considered after the deadline.
